The Natural Roots

OF AN ORGANIC MATERIAL

As with most successful ventures, the roots of Manolo’s Best Chili sprang from one man’s desire to satisfy a common need. It is a need based on two universal truths, that: 1) people seek to feed themselves and their families healthy, nutritious, and delicious food; and 2) everyone loves chili. What resulted did not occur by chance, by luck, or as the result of some sudden “Eureka!” moment. It evolved slowly, deliberately and organically, over the course of several years.

 

Our company founder, Mitch Wolinsky, an accomplished chili master in his own right, was interested in improving his personal health. So, as a committed chili aficionado, he set out to find for himself a locally made turkey or veggie chili that would measure up to his discriminating palate. What he found instead were mediocre concoctions containing average-quality ingredients. Their flavor profiles either lacked excitement or were so heat intensive that they not only burned Mitch’s stomach, they made him ill. His best recourse, he decided, would be to create the chili himself.

A Quest For

PERFECTION

In their home kitchen, after months of trial and error, Mitch and his wife, Yvette, finally arrived at just the right recipe with just the right flavorings, just the right heat, and just the right consistency. Mitch was impressed with its zest and heartiness; Yvette approved of its ideally balanced, Latin-inspired melding of spice and heat, with a savory taste that mirrors its aroma. To confirm their findings, Mitch and Yvette began sharing their chili with friends, associates, and co-workers; all of whom gave it an enthusiastic “thumbs up”.

 

Due to this resoundingly positive response, Mitch and Yvette were encouraged to introduce their vegan chili at a local charity event. The entire supply not only sold out in under two hours, it led to Manolo’s Best Chili being awarded a contract to become a resident company of The Hatchery, Whole Foods Markets’ small-business incubator program. Participation in the Hatchery program exposed health-conscious chili lovers to the rich, satisfying taste of Manolo’s Best Chili. And now it’s your turn.

Today, Manolo’s Best Chili is available in two distinct non-GMO and gluten-free varieties: Original, and Roasted Sweet Potato – the ONLY Roasted Sweet Potato Chili on the market, with a mildly sweet, full-bodied flavor all its own.
